A case was filed against JINNEWS News Director Öznur Değer on a charge of “making propaganda for an organization in a successive manner” over five news reports she shared or reposted on social media. The Van Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office alleged that Değer’s posts praised the methods of the PKK and sought a prison sentence of between one and five years. The indictment dated a photograph from a 25 November protest as “25 November 2026”; Bianet said the photograph had been taken in 2025. Van 4th High Criminal Court accepted the indictment and scheduled the first hearing for 19 January 2027.
