Former CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu was called to testify due to her response to President Erdoğan’s X post. Kaftancıoğlu responded to Erdoğan’s post “It is a debt on our necks to ensure that they are held accountable” by saying, “It is also a debt on our necks… The days are near when those who lay their hands on Beytülmale will be judged”. Kaftancıoğlu gave a statement at Istanbul Security Directorate due to this post. It was reported that the investigation was evaluated within the scope of “insulting the President”.
