A new operation was conducted in the Manavgat district of Antalya as part of a bribery and corruption investigation targeting the municipality. Acting on instructions from the Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, KOM teams detained 19 people, including municipal employees and former staff. The investigation was expanded based on the case files of former Mayor Şükrü Sözen and his brother Fatih Sözen, who are currently in custody on charges of bribery, embezzlement, and bid rigging. Eight people had previously been arrested in the same scope, while the trial of 41 defendants, including former Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara, had begun in another case.
