The CHP requested that a proposal to amend the Criminal Procedure and TRT Laws to allow the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality trial to be broadcast live on TRT be directly added to the General Assembly agenda. The motion was rejected by votes from AK Party and MHP deputies. CHP Deputy Group Chairman Murat Emir stated that the proposal aimed to ensure that trials involving elected officials were broadcast openly to the public, calling on the People’s Alliance to support the live broadcast by saying, “Bring it on.” Emir also recalled Devlet Bahçeli’s previous statements supporting the broadcasting of trials. A debate ensued between the two parties following the vote.
