Emin Öner, the owner of ASSAN Group, and Gürcan Okumuş, the general manager of the company, have been arrested for allegedly being linked to FETÖ and engaging in military espionage activities. Öner and Okumuş, who were detained on August 27 as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, were arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace following their statements to the prosecutor’s office and sent to prison.
Öner was arrested on charges of “membership in an armed terrorist organization” and “destroying and misusing documents related to the security of the state”; Okumuş was arrested on charges of “fraudulently obtaining and stealing documents related to the security of the state”.
Within the scope of the investigation, the SDIF was appointed as trustee to 10 companies affiliated to ASSAN Group.
