Selahattin Demirtaş, who received a verdict of release in the file he was on trial in Ankara and was expecting a release, was arrested once again. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office started a “new” investigation against former People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ; arrest warrants were issued against the two politicians the same days. Demirtaş’s lawyer Mahsuni Karamanspoke on the arrest warrants, issued in relation to the Kobani incidents in October 2014, and indicated that no new investigation was opened and that the charges imposed on his client entered the main case file and that there is a release verdict for his client in the same case. So the law was turned upside down in order to prevent the release of Demirtaş and the potential release of Yüksekdağ; a second arrest warrant was issued within the same case due to the same action.
