The match between Giresun representative 1926 Bulancakspor and Alagöz Holding Iğdır FK in the third qualifying round of the Ziraat Türkiye Cup was the scene of an environmental protest. At the match held at Bulancak District Stadium, fans reacted to mining activities in the region by chanting slogans such as “Welcome to Iğdır, Alagöz get out.” Members of the Giresun Bulancak Piraziz Environment and Nature Association also joined the protest by unfurling banners in the stands with the slogan “Poisoner Alagöz, get out of Giresun.” Security forces warned the group chanting the slogans to remove the banners.
