As part of an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, an operation targeting the public secret structure of FETÖ/PDY was launched in 8 provinces centered in Ankara. In the investigation into the structure, which is said to target institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, the Central Bank, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), and the Capital Markets Board (SPK), arrest warrants were issued for a total of 19 people, 6 of whom are currently on active duty and 13 of whom have been dismissed. In simultaneous operations, 6 of the 7 fugitive convicts with final prison sentences were also captured in Ankara.
