Following CHP Deputy Group Leader Murat Emir’s mention of Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek’s visit to Ekol TV as part of an investigation into the channel, news reports and social media posts related to the matter were blocked on January 11. The Istanbul 10th Criminal Court of Peace based its decision, numbered 2026/512, on the grounds of protecting national security and public order. While the X platform did not make Murat Emir’s post invisible in Turkey, it did make journalist İsmail Arı’s post invisible in Turkey.
