In Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district, a 21-year-old man walked a 57-year-old woman around Galata Tower with a collar around her neck. The man was seen giving the woman commands such as “meow” and “bark,” saying, “Women are like wax, they become whatever you train them to be.” Following the backlash, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation. At the prosecutor’s request, two individuals were detained by Security Branch Directorate teams.
