The systematic violence and recent attack against journalist Ezgi Soysal was brought to the agenda of the Parliament by DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Celal Fırat. It was stated that despite Soysal repeatedly applying to CİMER, municipalities, and police stations, no protective measures were taken. Soysal was severely beaten by a group of ten people in front of her home on October 28. Celal Fırat criticized the failure to take action against the attackers and submitted an eight-question motion to the Minister of the Interior regarding violence against journalists.
