A lawsuit has been filed against Şehriban Şeker, a member of the Mimoza Women’s Association and an activist with the Mersin Women’s Platform, on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information” due to an interview she gave regarding the deaths of Rojin Kabaiş and Gülistan Doku. The indictment alleges that Şeker’s statements about evidence being tampered with misled the public and demands that she be deprived of certain rights.
Before the hearing, the Mersin Women’s Platform made a statement in front of the courthouse, calling for solidarity and saying, “It is not a crime to ask what happened to Rojin and Gülistan.” The trial was postponed until November 7.
