Eight more people have been detained in the investigation into “bribery” and “laundering of assets derived from crime” targeting the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. The operation was carried out by teams from the Smuggling and Organized Crime Department as part of the case being conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, in which the suspended Mayor Muhittin Böcek is being held in custody.
It was stated that the scope of the investigation had been expanded with the detention of U.K.Y, A.A, H.T.A, H.A, Y.Y, B.G, B.G., and A.E. In the same investigation, Mayor Böcek, Deputy Secretary General of the Municipality Serkan Temuçin, and Tuncay Kaya from the Department of Urban Aesthetics had previously been arrested, while some municipal employees were released under judicial control.
