Cemil İvrendi, who was arrested in 1994 at the age of 31 and sentenced to life imprisonment, has still not been released despite serving 30 years in prison. The release of the 62-year-old İvrendi, who is being held in Kırşehir S Type Prison, has been postponed three times for 6 months each. İvrendi, who has four chronic diseases such as heart failure, hypertension, high cholesterol and anal fistula, said, “They are almost telling me ‘Cemil die’. They are waiting for my death,” he said, calling for sensitivity. His daughter Dilan İvrendi said that her father was being held unlawfully and urgently needed several surgeries, “What is this if not arbitrary? At least let him be allowed to see his grandchildren.”
