Mardin Governorate announced a 30-day protest and demonstration ban in the province. In the statement made by the Governorate, the ban was based on April 4 being the birthday of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, March 30 being the anniversary of Mahir Çayan and his friends being killed in Kızıldere and April 16 and 17 being the anniversaries of the killing of DHKP/C founder Dursuk Karataş’s wife, Sabahat Karataş and 11 DHKP/C members.
