Ankara Public Security Branch Directorate teams organized a “Fotoçete Album Operation” against people sharing armed photos and videos on social media. Twenty-three people who shared images of themselves shooting guns and challenging each other on social media were detained.
Special Operations teams also participated in the operation. It was determined that the suspects had many records for “injury”, “threat”, “possession of unlicensed weapons” and “drugs”. Eight unlicensed pistols were seized during searches in Altındağ district. Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the incident.
