The fourth hearing of the trial of journalist Nurcan Yalçın on charges of “illegal organization membership” and “financing terrorism” was held on October 7 at Diyarbakır 9th Assize Court. The court ruled for the continuation of Yalçın’s ban on leaving the country and to complete the deficiencies in the file and adjourned the hearing to March 3, 2026.
Yalçın is on trial for her activities at Rosa Women’s Association and her journalistic work at Jinnews. In 2021, her prison sentence in the same case was overturned by the Court of Appeal. Yalçın was later retried on charges of “financing terrorism” for sending 400 TL to the roommate of a journalist he met in prison.
