LGBTI+ activists, who were detained in Kadıköy Yeldeğirmeni before the 20th Istanbul Pride March to be held in 2022 as part of the 30th LGBTI+ Pride Week, were acquitted after a three-year trial. The activists had been subjected to torture during their detention.
Making a statement after the verdict, Istanbul Pride March Committee said, “We shout once again that the streets and squares are ours. We will continue the struggle,” he said.
