The lawsuit filed against rights advocate and lawyer Sevda Çelik Özbingöl, who was detained and arrested in Urfa in March 2020, based on the press statements she participated in as well as her meetings with clients in prisons, was concluded. Urfa 6th Assize Court sentenced Özbingöl to 11 years and six months of imprisonment in total due to “illegal organisation membership,” “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations” and “making illegal organisation propaganda.”
