We were at the press conference for Day of the Imprisoned Writer

 PEN International brings five writers into agenda each year on November 15; who have faced various oppressions and threats because of expressing their opinions.

This year, the writers on the agenda were Ahmed Naji from Egypt, Aslı Erdoğan from Turkey, Cesario Alejandro Félix Padilla Figueroa from Honduras, Dareen Tatour from Israel and Gui Minhai from China.

         Turkish Writers Union, PEN Turkey, Turkish Journalists’ Association, Contemporary Journalists Association, Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey – Press/Labour and Turkish Publishers Union have organized a press meeting, drawing attentions to the situation of imprisoned writers and journalists in Turkey and around the world. We joined the press meeting to support the imprisoned writers and the actions taken for their freedom.
