In the İBB case, the court ordered the continued detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu and the release of seven defendants. Those released included employees of İBB and Ağaç A.Ş. and businessperson Adem Başer. The court lifted the reporting and house arrest obligations imposed on defendants being tried without detention, while maintaining travel bans for some defendants. Suspended Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu denied the charges against him during his four-day defense. The court ordered that İmamoğlu remain in detention and adjourned the hearing until 2 November 2026. In the 3,809-page indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on 11 November 2025, prosecutors sought a prison sentence of between 828 years and two months and 2,352 years for İmamoğlu over 142 separate acts.
