Eylem Sıla Bayram, who was detained and arrested during the police intervention at the May 1 commemoration in Taksim, has been charged with “damage to property.” The charge was based on the fact that Bayram’s blood, which was flowing during her detention, stained a police officer’s uniform. Bayram’s lawyer, Serhat Alan, stated that the charges were intended to cover up allegations of torture.
