An investigation has been launched into Tuba Torun, the wife and attorney of former CHP MP Aykut Erdoğdu, who is currently in custody in connection with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) case. In a statement made in front of the Bakırköy Courthouse, Torun said, “If Aykut Erdoğdu is not released, this is a declaration of war.” Following the statement, the Bakırköy Chief Prosecutor’s Office initiated proceedings under the Lawyers’ Act and applied to the Ministry of Justice for permission to conduct an investigation.
