Seven university students were charged with “insulting the President” for chanting slogans during a rally in Saraçhane for the 100th day of IBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu’s detention. At the hearing at Istanbul 19th Criminal Court of First Instance, the prosecutor presented his final opinion. The court lifted the judicial control on the grounds that the defendants are students and their defenses have already been taken and adjourned the trial to January 23, 2026.
