Real estate agent Mecit Şahinkaya was arrested for “providing material and logistical support to the organization” following an operation in Istanbul Gazi neighborhood. The court ruled that the banner hung as an office advertisement was an “organization banner”. Lawyer Görgün Danacı stated that the decision is a serious violation of fair trial and legal security. According to the family’s statement, there is no concrete evidence that Şahinkaya has any organizational connections outside of work.
