Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, more than 200 employees working in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and its subsidiaries were called to testify. Financial Crimes Branch teams took the statements of 50 employees, including managers and deputy managers, in the first stage. Among those called to testify was Utku Cihan, who served as the head of IBB Transportation Department between 2020 and 2024 and is currently the mayor of Hopa. Cihan announced that he will give his statement in Hopa. Ekrem İmamoğlu, CHP’s presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is under arrest, said in his message to Kastamonu Provincial Congress, “The government is looking for ways to win the next election today through the judiciary. Let them know that we will not kneel,” he said.
