While the investigation into the murder of journalist Hakan Tosun, who was killed in Esenyurt, Istanbul, is still pending, it has emerged that journalist Umut Taştan was threatened while investigating the case.
Onur Cingil, the lawyer of Tosun’s family, revealed that Taştan, a reporter for Halk TV, was threatened by relatives of the perpetrator while he was reporting on the case.
While it is claimed that the security camera footage at the scene was taken by relatives of the perpetrators instead of the police, lawyer Cingil criticized the silence of the prosecutor’s office.
In his previous statements, Taştan had stated that the family of the attacker took the recording device by saying “give us the camera” and bragged about the footage.
