Director Orhan Eskiköy’s “Ev” was not included in the competition program of the 36th Ankara Film Festival to be held on November 13-21, despite the request of the pre-jury. The festival management reported that the decision was taken on the grounds of violation of the regulations. Eskiköy stated that his film was excluded from the competition without contacting him and said “a subtle censorship was applied to me.” The director said he thought he was being punished for addressing President Erdoğan in his speech at Golden Boll. Festival director İrfan Demirkol did not comment on the issue.
