Van Governorate once again extended the protest and demonstration ban announced every month for the past two years.
In the statement made on the official website of the Governorate, all rallies, closed and public space meetings, protest demonstrations, leaflet distributions and banner/poster hangings within the province were bound to permission by the local administration; and all other activities and events such as press statements, booths, sit-in protests and commemoration ceremonies were banned for 30 days. Election activities of political parties and events organized by official institutions were exempted from the ban.
