A decision of non-prosecution was issued in the investigation opened against T24 reporter Can Öztürk under the “censorship law” for reporting on the sexual abuse allegations against Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akın. The prosecutor’s office stated that the news report was in line with the apparent reality and fell within the scope of freedom of expression. Öztürk explained that the article included both the children’s allegations and Akın’s responses.
