People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Sezai Temelli went to Ceylanpınar with a HDP board after holding a rally in Siverek, Şanlıurfa within the election campaigns. The MP and the board faced police restriction for their election activity; the party members were intervened with tear gas.
The statement made by the party headquarters stated that the rally was ‘arbitrarily’ restricted by the police despite an official prevention. In the written statement made, the HDP board was indicated to have been followed by armoured vehicles since their entrance to the district, all vehicles stopped and searched during their journey and the police has stated that the event can’t be held despite all permissions were received.
