Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu filed a criminal complaint against journalist Nevşin Mengü and academic Dr. Emrah Gülsunar with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on charges of ‘insult’ and ‘slander’. It was reported that the criminal complaint was filed over statements related to the lawsuit on the annulment of the CHP congresses.
In the petition filed by Kılıçdaroğlu’s lawyer Celal Çelik, the statements shared by Mengü on his YouTube channel and Gülsunar’s harsh comments on social media were presented as evidence.
Mengü claimed that the prosecutor in the congress case had sent a message to Kılıçdaroğlu saying “come and testify, this file will be closed”, while Gülsunar quoted this claim and criticized Kılıçdaroğlu in harsh terms. “This person should be expelled from the party and spit on everywhere,” Gülsunar’s statement read.
The lawsuit marks a critical turning point for internal debates and factional conflicts within the CHP.
