A summary was prepared against Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Mehmet Bekaroğlu after he reacted against Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu through his social media account. Soylu spoke on the armed fight in Suruç before the general elections, that led to four people losing their lives and 10 people being injured; saying, “The reason for the incidents in Suruç is Muharrem İnce.”
In the summary prepared by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Bekaroğlu was charged with “public insult against public officer due to his duty” through his expressions addressed to Soylu, “God damn you, you shameless, don’t be a provocative spy.” The summary further claimed the revocation of Bekaroğlu’s Parliamentary immunity.
