Students staged a sit-in protest against the decision to allocate the Pocket Cinema space, previously used by the Cinema Club at Yıldız Technical University which was closed in September, to another club for an event. The students filled the space during the scheduled event hours, preventing the activity from taking place, and the event was postponed. A month after the protest, the university administration launched a disciplinary investigation against the students who participated in the action. The Cep Sinema area was initially taken from the club on the grounds that it would undergo renovations after the club’s closure, but later, a new club was granted permission to use the space for events. This decision had intensified the students’ reaction.
