Y.O.A., a 30-year-old textile worker who was arrested on charges of “threatening the President” due to the expressions he used in a street interview, was acquitted in his first hearing 77 days later. Istanbul 22nd High Criminal Court ruled that Y.O.A. did not act with criminal intent. The court released Y.O.A. with the acquittal verdict. With the decision, Y.O.A. will be able to claim compensation for the time she was detained.
