Conscientious objector and writer Sergen Sucu and his wife were detained at Kyrenia Port after traveling from Diyarbakır to Northern Cyprus. Sucu said they were held in custody at the port, their right to communicate was restricted for a long time, and his wife was subjected to a strip search. Sucu said their lawyers were also unable to obtain information about the reason for the detention and added that after his computer was examined, he was questioned about Abdullah Öcalan and the ongoing process. Sucu said he believed the detention was political and that no legal justification was given to them.
