A warrant was issued against journalist Cengiz Çandar in the first hearing of the lawsuit filed against him at Istanbul 30th Criminal Court of First Instance due to “praising the crime and the criminal” through a social media post in 2017. The next hearing was scheduled for April 15.
Çandar is ontrial due to the tweet he posted in 2017 about YPG member Ayşe Deniz Karacagil.
