US State reacts against Sedef Kabaş’s arrest

At a daily press conference, US Department of State Spokesperson Ned Price reacted to the arrest of journalist Sedef Kabaş on charges of “insulting the President” and said, “freedom of expression is universal and protecting freedom of expression strengthens democracies, even if it includes words that are considered by some to be controversial or offensive. It’s just as true in other parts of the world, as in Turkey.”
