Istanbul University students marched to Beyazıt Main Gate on December 19, nine months after Ekrem İmamoğlu’s arrest. Gathering in front of the Esnaf Cafeteria, the students stated that they were exercising their constitutional rights and demanded the release of four university students arrested in Izmir. Police cordoned off Beyazıt and the surrounding area and surrounded the students after the march. At least 26 students were detained as a result of the intervention.
