The trial of municipal administrators and council members charged with “membership in an organization” as part of the Kent Uzlaşısı investigation was heard at the Istanbul 23rd Heavy Penal Court. The prosecutor requested only that Sancaktepe Municipal Council Member Elif Gül remain in custody, demanding the release of the other detainees. The court ruled to release eight politicians in line with the prosecutor’s request. However, Sancaktepe Municipal Council Member Elif Gül and Beyoğlu Municipal Council Member Turabi Şen will remain in custody. After the hearing, DEM Party Deputy Group Chair Sezai Temelli described the case as “conspiracy politics.” The trial was postponed until February 18, 2026.
