The gendarmerie attacked the villagers, who were protesting the cutting of olive trees for the mine site planned to be put into operation in the İkizköy district of Muğla. Turkish Workers’ Party (TIP) Muğla Provincial Chairman Volkan Çetin and Labour Party (EMEP) Muğla Provincial Chairman Nuri Alikoç were detained.
