Municipal Council member Ekrem Baki and Licensing and Inspection Director Burak Aydın were detained in an operation against Üsküdar Municipality two days before the rerun of the deputy mayor election. Ekrem Baki, who switched from the AKP to the CHP, was entitled to vote in the deputy mayor election scheduled for 5 September.
