Two of the eight people detained in the eighth wave of the corruption and bribery investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office were arrested. Jeweler U.K.Y. and municipal employee B.G. were released, while gallery owner H.T.A. and businessman B.G. were arrested. Municipal Special Office employee Y.Y. was released under house arrest.
As part of the investigation, it was alleged that real estate and money transfers were made to the detained former Mayor Muhittin Böcek and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, and that luxury cars were transferred to the name of M.K., Böcek’s girlfriend. Böcek was arrested in the case, which began on July 5, and was removed from office by the Ministry of the Interior.
