The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office requested permission from the Ministry of Interior to investigate Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş on charges of “abuse of office.” The request was based on allegations that Ankapark was closed during Yavaş’s term, that protective measures were inadequate, and that public property was damaged.
The complaint letter alleged that the park had been vandalized for six years, materials inside had been stolen, and the total damage exceeded 3 billion TL. The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office received a response from the Ministry of Interior on September 16, 2025, stating that the “preliminary investigation is ongoing” regarding its request for permission made on January 13, 2025. The process is expected to be clarified once the report is completed.
