The X (formerly Twitter) account of Kaos GL Association, which is active in the field of LGBTI+ rights, was blocked from Turkey. Users accessing the @kaosgl account, which has 47,500 followers, encounter the warning “This content is not available in Turkey in response to a legal request”. Kaos GL stated that no official notification was made to them and no justification was provided by X. The association stated that this censorship is a severe attack on freedom of expression and the visibility of LGBTI+ people. Kaos GL announced that it will continue its publishing activities in all media.
