Eight people, including journalist Tuğba Tekerek and principal members of Kaos GL’s executive and audit boards, were arrested after being detained in Ankara as part of the “Ailem Güvende” operation. The judgeship charged the suspects with “violating the Associations Law,” “facilitating the publication of obscene publications” and “obscenity in places visible to children.” Seven people were released under judicial control. Tekerek said the investigation was based on a report she prepared for Kaos GL about the 2024 elections in Georgia and that she held no position in the association. In the same operation, 28 people were arrested in Mersin and eight were released under judicial control.
