CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut announced on December 26 that TRT management had filed a 1 TL moral damages lawsuit against him for his criticisms during the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Planning and Budget Committee meeting. Bulut stated that he was accused of “discrediting the institution” for criticizing TRT for broadcasting an entertainment program on November 10. In a social media statement, Bulut said that the lawsuit could not obscure the truth and that TRT, as a public broadcaster, should be open to criticism.
