On November 29, 2024, the hearing of the case against 9 people who protested against trade with Israel during President Erdoğan’s speech at TRT World Forum was held at Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of First Instance. The defendants are charged with “violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations”. The court decided to hear the police officers who signed the minutes as witnesses. The next hearing was adjourned to February 4, 2026. The indictment stated that the defendants shouted slogans such as “Stop inciting genocide”, “Free Palestine”, “Free Palestine from the River to the Sea” and did not disperse despite the warning.
