As part of an investigation into allegations of “bribery,” “bid rigging,” and “corruption” during the term of former Manavgat Mayor Şükrü Sözen, three of the 28 suspects detained in operations conducted in six provinces on October 28 were arrested. Former deputy mayors Levent Ardıç and Bülent Özgüven, along with businessman Can Özgüven, were arrested, while nine people were released on judicial control. Sixteen people gave statements under the provisions of effective repentance. Former mayor Şükrü Sözen had also been arrested earlier as part of the same investigation.
