Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Amine Cansu Çelik, Licensing Inspection Director Burak Aydın and business operator Erdem Koyunyerli were arrested in an investigation by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office into alleged irregularities in construction and occupancy permit procedures at Üsküdar Municipality. After taking their statements on charges of “bribery” and “extortion,” prosecutors referred the suspects to a criminal judgeship of peace with requests for arrest. The judgeship ordered all three arrested.
